While in Tucson, Arizona, we took a hike in the Sabino Canyon Recreation Area.
Lots of saguaro cacti.
Also warnings about mountain lions.
We started on the Sabino Lake and Bluff trail.
A lot of the bridges had water flowing over them.
We then took the Powerline Trail.
My cousin who was walking with use referred to this as the MIT railing.
From the Powerline Trail we got some very interesting views of a spillway under one of the bridges.
We briefly stayed on the Sabino Canyon Trail.
We walked back down North Upper Sabino Canyon Road. The road was gorgeous and had amazing corners that would be a lot of fun to race up and down.
The hazardous bridge signs were amazing. Not only is the bike rider going up over the handle bard but the wheel is deformed. We were really amused by this sign.
For many of the crossings some of us took off shoes and went through the water. Others of us used trash bags that we brought to wade through the water. This was great until the trash bags failed.
These are the same spillways was photographed previously from above.
The bridges act as dams with spillways through and paths for water to flow over. There is a tram that drives up and down the road making multiple stops that makes waves as it goes through the water.
