Dallas, TX – EBJ Union Station

Our first stop, while we were awake, during which we could get off the train, was Dallas Texas at the EBJ Union Station. We really enjoyed being able to stretch out legs. The station was a meeting place of the DART Light Rail, Trinity Railway Express, and Amtrak.
Not quite the most urban central train station I have been to.

Lots of pretty sky and fresh air. We were stopped here between 30 and 60 minutes and had a good amount of time to walk around.

Our engine was a GE P42DC with a 4250 horsepower rating.
The single engine was pulling two sleeper cars, one dining car, one cafe / lounge car, and I think three coaches, but we may have been down to two at this point. We lost one of our coaches around St. Louis, MO.
The DART Light Rail is electrified.

The Trinity Railway Express is a diesel commuter rail service that uses bi-level cars that are single level where the cars meet.
