Montréal Trip - October 2018

Holly and I went to Vermont to visit with friends and then we all took a two day trip to Montréal. For this I have images both from my camera as well as my friend's camera. Friends' names are purposefully anonymized to an extent. Except, I did copyright the photos for whoever took them.

I put together this list as a way to keep the links for all the other posts.

We got on our second to last Métro at Place – des – Arts Station.

Montréal - Underground City

We had a fair amount of time to walk around. We entered the Underground City from Palais de Congrès. The Underground City connects a lot of buildings and subway stations so that denizens can stay warm during the winter. While it is called the "Underground City" there are some passages that require you to go above ground (bridges over roadways and such) while indoors.

We walked from Montréal Vieux to Palais de Congrès. We were going to take the metro but decided to explore instead.

Holly had the camera while we walked around Montréal Vieux. We walked into a few shops.

We went for breakfast and then walked around the Old Port.

Holly borrowed the camera for a bit while I took photos with our friend's camera.

Montréal - Jardin Botanique (Friend's Camera)

We were in Montréal with our friends. I have a Canon T2i. My friend has a Canon 70D, which is a fancier body than mine. They took their images in JPEG and not RAW, so I cannot do as much to touch them up (in terms of light balancing) as I could on mine.

We went to the Jardin Botanique to see a light show. First I took a few pictures of the 1976 Montréal Olympic Games stadium tower.

Another station, this time with more brick.

I took pictures of the train that we rode on the Green Line. This is the MPM-10. It is pass through between all cars. It is also interesting how narrow the cars are.

Some of the seats were fold down as is common in the Paris metro.

We walked to the Peel Station on the Metro.

I found the layout interesting. Also, the subway cars here use both steel wheels and rubber tires.

Montréal - Hôtel Le Crystal

We stayed at the Hôtel Le Crystal. Our suite was pretty nice. There were a few minor signs of wear. For our purposes the room was great, as a suite, as it provided a good place for use to meet with our friends and plan our days.

The bathrobes here were rather comfortable.
