Tokyo - JR Tokyo Station
Our first day on the Shinkansen Platforms. We started the day at JR Tokyo Station on platform 22. JR Tokyo Station is not big on platform barriers for the Shinkansen. And yes, since this is me on a trip expect a fair number of train and train station pictures.
To the best of my knowledge JR Tokyo Station is a terminus for all Shinkansen lines that come here. From JR Tokyo Station you can get on lines that head north and east of Tokyo or you can get on ones that head south and west.
