Amtrak - 28 Empire Builder - Superliner Coach Car

We took Amtrak 28 Empire Builder from Seattle to Spokane, Washington. The train left in the afternoon but does not arrive in Spokane until around 12:30 AM.

The initial part of the trip is along Puget Sound heading out of Seattle, WA.

A lot of pretty pictures of the water with the tracks right beside it.

The seats are rather spacious in terms of leg room. There is a tray table, storage pocket, a significant amount of recline and a foot rest and leg rest. There are also two outlets per pair of seats.

We found the seats comfortable when sitting and awake during the daytime part of our trip. When we were tired and sleepy we found them rather uncomfortable. I would not recommend the coach seats for overnight travel and sleeping.

This being July 2021 there was a mask mandate in place. The vast majority of coach passengers were wearing masks and compliant other than when eating or drinking.
For the most part I was able to get some decent photos of the scenery that we passed.
As the sun began to set the photos were a lot more of taking snapshots when there was a reasonable amount of light. This would be occasional when there were breaks between the trees and mountains.
As you can see it was getting pretty dark and I was running out of light to photograph the scenery.
We passed a BNSF train on our way and so I tried to take a photo of the locomotive.
This was my last last photo during the sunset.
